Scranton's fashion scene just got a major upgrade, and you're not going to believe who's shaking things up! Meet Jessica Illescas Merritt, the style maven who’s set to revolutionize downtown with her chic new boutique, Tachi Hill House of Fashion. Trading in the Big Apple's hustle for the charm of Northeast Pennsylvania, Jessica is bringing the glamour right to Scranton’s North Washington Avenue.
Since July 2023, Jessica has been rocking the online fashion world with JessingWithStyle, and now, with the grand opening on November 15 in the nostalgic Connell Building, she’s ready to bring her big city flair to Scranton’s stylish residents. The location, once home to New Laundry, another hotspot for women’s clothing, is about to be renamed the new style center of Scranton.
Jessica spilled her passion for fashion, saying, “Scranton has ALWAYS been ready for this level of fashion fire!” No more trips to New York or Philly, ladies—Jessica’s got you covered with her trendy threads right here!
Inaugurated with a fabulous ribbon-cutting ceremony, Tachi Hill House of Fashion opened its doors to style enthusiasts, and the welcome wagon was full throttle. Big names like Scranton Mayor Paige Gebhardt Cognetti and the fabulous team from Scranton Tomorrow turned out to show their love and support.
Eager to make everyone feel special and catered to, Jessica is all ears when it comes to customer suggestions. Her mission? To create a cozy and kid-friendly space everyone will love. The online shop continues to thrive, drawing fans from Texas to South Carolina, and now with a brick-and-mortar spot, Tachi Hill is set to make waves!
“I’m taking risks, and I’m all in,” says Jessica, who snagged the opportunity to open her store right here when her dream location became available. Inspired by the previous owner, Theresa Stuckart of New Laundry, Jessica is infusing her unique touch while continuing the beloved legacy.
The downtown fashion squad is all about camaraderie! From Over the Moon to Runway Boutique, local shops are buzzing with excitement, sending referrals and floral tributes as tokens of support. Jessica hopes to keep this good vibe going, emphasizing, “There’s room for all of us; it’s about community, not competition!”
And here’s the cherry on top—Liz Baldi from Scranton Tomorrow confirms the high demand for fabulous business locations in the bustling heart of Scranton. The vibrant city life ensures that new businesses like Tachi Hill House won’t just survive, but thrive, adding to the downtown magic and enhancing the entire community's offerings.
Ready to be wowed? Head down to Tachi Hill House of Fashion and prepare to step up your style game with bold choices and a fashion-forward attitude! Don’t miss out on this fashion revolution hitting Scranton!
