Goodbye to the Fashion Icon: Discover Bodhi, the Shiba Inu Who Outdressed Us All!

Ready to meet the pooch whose wardrobe would put yours to shame? Meet Bodhi, the ridiculously stylish Shiba Inu who was more fashion-forward than many humans! Rocking everything from dapper sportcoats to luxurious knitwear, this pooch was a true men's wear influencer before it was even a thing!
Bodhi, who graced social media and the fashion world with his presence, sadly left us at the age of 15. Known online as the infamous Menswear Dog, his owner Yena Kim broke the news on Instagram, posting an image of Bodhi slaying in a striped turtleneck one last time.
This canine fashion icon wasn’t your average dog—oh no! Over his career, Bodhi flaunted herringbone overcoats, cashmere vests, and snazzy bow ties. Unlike your typical dog collar, his accessories included tortoiseshell glasses and trendy pageboy caps. Lawrence Schlossman, co-host of the podcast “Throwing Fits,” even admitted to unwittingly copying the pup’s style once. Talk about trend-setting!
Yena Kim found Bodhi back in 2009 while she was studying at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Named after a character from the movie "Point Break," Bodhi hung out with her in style as she honed her fashion skills. But it wasn't until 2013 that Bodhi's fame skyrocketed, all thanks to a few clothing samples and a camera.
Bodhi rapidly ascended to icon status, landing features in GQ, Harper’s Bazaar, and even modeling for high-end brands like Coach and Salvatore Ferragamo. Oh, and did we mention his capsule collection with Nike? The fashion world was shaken!
But behind the fabulous photoshoots, Bodhi was, at his core, just a playful pup who loved nothing more than stealing steak off the dinner table and enjoying beach days at Jacob Riis Park in Queens. His personality was vibrant and cheeky—bet you wouldn’t expect anything less from a dog with that flair!
In his last years, Bodhi tragically battled health issues but remained in high spirits, touching lives even as his own was drawing to a close. His legacy? Not only those jaw-dropping pictures all over your Instagram feed but the countless connections he fostered along the way.
Even after his passing, messages of love and admiration for Bodhi poured in from around the world, including a heartfelt tribute from Brooks Brothers lauding their collaborations with him. Bodhi’s stylish paw prints have left a mark on the world, and he will always be remembered as the suave Shiba Inu who taught us all a thing or two about style and connection.
Bodhi, the world's most fashionable good boy—you will truly be missed!
